Out of the box

Every night, more than 122,000 people in Australia experience homelessness… that’s a staggering 1 in 200 people made up of men, women and children. 23% are aged 12-24 years old…

In the only charity team building program of its kind, ‘Out of the Box’ is an opportunity for socially responsible organisations to make a difference to the lives of Australians doing it tough. Unaware of the outcome teams will be presented with the challenge of working together to earn essential items that many Australians go without each and every day. “Out of the Box” brings those items to life in a fun and engaging team program for adults.

The heartwarming twist is each participant will then have the opportunity to donate a box of essentials to someone in their community experiencing homelessness.

We would like to extend our thanks to Alene from Corporate Challenge Events for running the Out of the Box program for our SDI sales team members. Alene’s professionalism, enthusiasm and ability to engage everyone made the session not only enjoyable but also highly impactful. The activities were creative, well-structured and tailored to foster collaboration and innovative thinking within the team. Her facilitation style encouraged participation and brought out valuable insights that will help us work more effectively as a unit. We’re truly grateful for the effort and energy Alene invested in making this program a success. Thank you for an awesome experience!

We did the Out of the Box Challenge as part of our EFM National Conference. This was so much fun with a fantastic message at the end. Millie was energetic and ensured everyone was involved!

Was exactly what we needed being back together after 3 years of no face to face Conference. We highly recommend Corporate Challenge Events.

This was the first time I had engaged Corporate Challenge Events and it exceeded my expections. From my first enquiry email, to Tim coming to our office to plan the event, to the actual event itself all was easy and smooth. There as a ‘no problem’ attitude. Tim was energetic and connected straight away with my team members. This really made the day. My team were all engaged and actively participating.

I couldn’t of asked for a better experience. I still had team members laughing and talking about the day the following week.

How Play Turns into Purpose

Challenge-Based Play

In collaboration with social enterprise The Good Box, Out of the Box offers a rare opportunity for socially responsible organisations to support Australians experiencing homelessness. Through a series of fun and engaging team challenges, participants work together to earn essential items and discover the deeper purpose behind their actions.

The twist

When the judges call time, all teams must stop and gather their earned essentials for collection. The atmosphere quickly shifts from competitive to reflective as the true meaning behind each item is revealed. It highlights the harsh reality that more than 116,000 Australians live without these basic necessities every single day.

Making it Personal

Participants are invited to write a handwritten note of kindness to include in their Good Box. Where available, a guest speaker shares their lived experience. Optional presentations from The Good Box  bring the impact to life and remind teams their actions are restoring dignity, not just delivering essentials.
