Christmas Cracker Jack

Sun’s out, jack’s down, it’s time to roll into the festive season. Christmas Crackerjack is a social, spirited lawn bowls showdown with a Christmas twist. Dressed in your finest (or funniest) festive gear, teams compete in a round-robin tournament with plenty of banter, novelty challenges, and refreshment breaks between ends. Whether you’re bowling for glory or just here for the cheer, this event brings everyone together for some friendly competition and fresh air. And with a surprise final round and points awarded for more than just skill, anything can happen on the green.

How it Works

The Brief

The green is set, the tunes are on, and the icy cold drinks are flowing. After a quick intro from a lawn bowls expert and a chance to practice your form, the Christmas competition begins.

Round Robin

Teams of 2–4 are formed and sent onto the rinks for a round-robin lawn bowls tournament. No experience needed, just a good attitude and the ability to laugh when you send the jack flying sideways. As teams rotate through matches, scores are tracked, rivalries emerge, and Christmas costumes make their way into the spotlight.

Novelty Challenges

But it’s not all about precision bowls. Sprinkled throughout the day are light-hearted novelty challenges and cheeky rule twists that keep the vibe playful and inclusive. There’s space to mingle, grab refreshments, and enjoy the outdoor setting between rounds.

Final Knockout

Once all scores are tallied, including points for team spirit, costumes, and creativity, two top teams are chosen to face off in the ultimate Final Knockout. Who will hold their nerve, bowl true, and take home the Christmas Crackerjack crown?
